Increasing purl stitch

how do you neatly increase at beginning and end of each each row if the stitch needs to be a purl stitch.?

Thanks Aljoe

When a pattern says to inc at the beg and end, you don’t hae to do it in the very edge st, you can inc 1 or 2 sts in, or between the edge st and the one next to it. To increase in purl, you can do a pfb/purl front and back, there’s a video in the Glossary. Or if you prefer a m1 inc, lift the yarn between the 2 sts with the L needle back to front, purl into the front leg of it and that will make the twist. The KRL/KLL incs can be done purlwise, just purl into the bump of the purl st below the needle.
