Increasing in ribbing for turtle neck - help

Okay… I’ve search all my knitting books and looked at my knitting DVDs and I can’t find anywhere on how to do this instruction…

I’m in a K2,P2 rib pattern on circulars (knitting in the round). Center stiches are P2. Number of sts 188

“When collar measure 3 cm work on either side of the 2 centre sts each time 1 st, then 1 st on every alt round 7 time tbl, work inc sts in rib patt = 204 sts.”

The only thing I can think to do is:
row 0 …pp kk pp kk pp…
row 1 …pp kkk pp kkk pp…
row 3 …pp kkkk pp kkkk pp…
row 5 …pp kk p kk pp kk p kk pp
row 7 …pp kk pp kk pp kk pp kk pp
row 9 …pp kk pp kkk pp kkk pp kkk pp (repeating 1-7 one more time for a total of 16 sts

Or do I:
row 0: pp kk (pp) kk pp…(pp) = center sts
row 1: pp kk p (pp) p kk pp + 2
row 3: pp kk pp (pp) pp kk pp + 4
row 5: pp kk pp k (pp) k pp kk pp + 6
row 7: pp kk pp kk (pp) kk pp kk pp + 8 - repeat 1-7 one more time)

Is this correct?.. and do I do a standard bar increase?.. or some type of M1?

Thanks for any help given…

Do the second one. Keep the center stitches in the p2 and expand out from there. I’d do a M1 for the increase and then just work it in pattern on the next round.
