Increases in Top Down Yoked Sweater

I am knitting a child’s Top Down Yoked Sweater based on a pattern by Joan Scoggin, which is based on EZ’s percentages sweater. I am at the place where I place the sleeve stitches on holders. The directions say
to divide the stitces as follows: 34 stitches on holder; knit back 57 stitches; 34 stitches on holder; CAST ON UNDERARM EASE 11 STITCHES; knit front 57 stitches; CAST ON UNDERARM EASE 11 STITCHES; knit front 57 stitches. The directions give no indication of what type of increase is preferred. Any suggestions?

:??

They’re not looking for an increase, really, but a cast on. I’d use backward loop, or you can use any of the one-strand cast ons.

You’re making the underarm stitches that will join the front to the back.

Of course!! Thanks so much. Too early in the morning when I posted, for my mind to be working properly I guess.
