Increases for purling like the make one away?

increases for purling like the make one away?

is there such a thing, do you just reverse direction for a purl-side increase?

these came out very well for knit-side increases for me, I would like to use them on necessary purl-side increases.

thanks!

When I do a M1 on the purl side, I pick up the bar from back to front with the left tip and purl into the small loop on the front.

thanks, what i am wondering about is the “Make one Away” from AMy’s instructions, that loops a new loop around the needle in a specific manner, not picking up the bar, i am a tight knitter and those come out really tight!

Oooooh! I never watched that video. So it’s really a backward loop, right? I thing reversing it would be the best way, too. Maybe just turn you needle over and do a the loop on the back so your purl side is on the front–know what I mean?

I’ll try it and let you know how it turns out!

Okay, so you purl the stich to the right needle, pick up the bar with the left needle and then purl into it? I hope I’m doing this right.

Kudos to me for finding this post instead of my normal lazy “just post another topic with the same question”!

Hurray for a search that works!

When I do a M1 increase on the purl side, I pick up the yarn between the stitches where the pattern says to make the increase. I just reverse the position of the strand so that the smaller loop is in the front and I purl into it. I don’t know if this is the ‘approved’ way, but it seems to work for me.

Hey ya’ll, I’ve switched to making two stitches in one instead of picking up the bar, leaves a smoother stictch for me !
