Increase stitch in base

Hi,
My problem is I am knitting mittens for the first time and the pattern is telling me to increase stitch in base of stitch. I am a new knitter and I don’t understand what that means exactly. I have increased before but I am not sure what the pattern is asking me to do. Help!! I am stuck.

Look at the increases page, I think it would be KRL.
