Increase question at the yoke please

In the pattern Wavecrest by Libby Jonson when it comes to the increase at the yoke, do I knit in groups of 8 and then do the inc. Or after 8 do the inc only all along the row.

You knit 8, then repeat everything in parentheses until you get to the end of the row, ending with 208 stitches. You’re adding 80 stitches on this row, so you’ll repeat that 40 times.

So:
K 8, (k1, m1L, k2, m1L), (k1, m1L, k2, m1L), (k1, m1L, k2, m1L), …to the end of the row.

I would suggest using markers maybe every 2 repeats, to help keep on track.

Thank you so much for replying and explaining that so clearly. I was stuck on pause. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello
Knit 8 first, then you’ll repeat everything in the brackets over an over to the end of the round. The knit 8 is not within the repeat brackets so is not repeated.

I hope that makes sense.

The instructions for yoke increases in many patterns are often structured around specific sections. This means you should first knit 8 stitches normally, then increase the following stitches. This helps create even, symmetrical increases throughout your work.
