Hi
I’m knitting a jumper in 6x6 rib in the round.
In the sleeves the pattern says to increase 2 stitches every 3cm (first and last stitches of a 6P where my ‘seam’ marker is). Pattern says P first 6 increases and K the next 6 increases. I cannot for the life of me work this out to keep the 6x6 rib going. Any ideas? Any video/you tube link suggestions?
Increase in 6x6 rib
Welcome to KH!
Your drawing is the correct idea and at least on way to work this. I’ve used the same method in the round. It creates a rather pretty V pattern along the inner sleeve.
If your increases start in the middle of 6 purl sts, work the first 3 increases (6 new sts) as purls. That’ll give you 12 purl sts in the middle column. Work the next 6 increases (12 new sts) as knits. Continue with the increases in this way, working until there are 12sts in one stitch pattern then splitting the column with new increases in the other stitch.
That looks very neat. If you look at store bought sweaters, the same technique that is often used for ribbed sleeves.
