Increase 1 stitch both ends

Increasing one stitch both ends of a row what “increase” do I use? If I use the loop one that Amy has first in the increase section it turns out all wonky looking. Am I doing it wrong or is there an easier way? Thanks.

I would use either a kfb, which is not invisible but is a good all-purpose increase, or a M1L/M1R, depending which way you want it to slant. For an increase row at both ends, I’d probably do K1, M1R, work to the last stitch, M1L, K1.

Yeah, I was going to say kfb, but I also do it one stitch in. So k1, kfb, knit to last stitch, kfb, k1.

Thanks. I was orginally going to do the increase one stitch in but was afraid of not following the pattern and ruining it. I’m glad someone set my mind at ease! :muah:
