My pattern says bind off 4 sts, knit until there are 10 sts on rh needle,sl centre 16 sts onto holder for back neck, join another hank of yarn and knit to the end. Working both sides at once…i have now 10 sts on my right needle 16 sts on holder and sts still on my left needle. Im confused where do i add the new wool to? And what do i do with the other wool still attatched to the right needle?
Hi Grannyh, after starting the row and knitting the first 10 sts, did you slip the center 16 sts onto a holder before knitting them or did you knit them first then slip them onto the holder?
If you slipped them before knitting them the working yarn will still be attached to the 10 sts on your right needle. You would then need to join in a new ball to be able to complete the remaining stitches on the left needle because of the gap caused by the back neck sts on hold.
If you worked the center sts before slipping them to holder then the yarn will be attached to the last of the sts on hold. In this case, you can decide to continue to the end of the row with the same ball of yarn and then finish each side one at a time or, on the following row, add the new ball to the last group of 10 sts and then you can finish doing both sides at the same time.
Either way will work
Hope this helps, enjoy your knitting

I just slipped them on so old yarn is on right hand needle. So I attach and knit the holder onto the right hand needle?. Thanks
If the original ball of yarn is attached to the first 10 sts that is great.
The 16 sts on a holder you can ignore for now.
Attach a new ball to knit the remaining sts on the left needle and work to the end of the row as instructed.
For the following row, you will have a group of sts which you’ll knit using the new ball of yarn, a gap where the back neck sts are on hold and then the other group of sts which you knit using the original ball of yarn.
this may help to explain a little more clearly
