I didn’t notice that my bamboo needles even HAD a smell until after I quit smoking! I like the smell, but that’s just me. Try rubbing your hands with a silver spoon after you use them, that might help.
I got the Denise interchangeables…very happy!
I finished my first project on them…a felted purse on the size 13 in the round! Posted the pic under the “finished products” thread. I am pretty happy with it overall.
I think I try the addi turbos when I need a size bigger than 15. I saw them in my lys yesterday and they are pretty cool!
Thanks for the advise ladies! Denise needles rock!
I would like to buy the Addi needles! =)
If I could pick anything that is =)
I LOVE bamboo needles. Straights, circs, DPNs. They feel so wonderful in my hands and there’s no worry of the yarn sliding off. I’ve tried aluminums, tension was WAY too tight for fear of losing stitches  Plastic just plain ole’ yuck in my hands. The Addi Turbos scare me!!

I am so glad that you are happy with your new needles! I checked out your purse picture and love it!

On a side note:
I just found an add on a Dutch sales website offering these secondhand eventhough they seem to be hardly used and still in their original box. I was wondering what they cost in the USA… to compare and see if what they are asking here is a reasonable price.
They ask about 60 euros; which comes down to about 77 US dollars…
Do the Addi’s have an interchangeable set like the Denise or Boye’s? I think that this would be a good investment, but I would like to really compare the two or three interchangeable sets before purchasing one of them. Thanks.
If i’m not too late here’s my 2 cents.
Get the Boye interchangables they work great, they’ve got more needles than the Denise, they’re light & slick and they sell them at Micheals and Joanne’s so you can use either of the 40 o/o off coupons. So take off 40 0/0 off of $69.00 and what does that leave ya? 'bout 40 bucks maybe?
Can’t beat that.

I had some Crystal Palace DPs that smelled like coffee and were actually the color of coffee, which made me wonder if that was what they had been colored with. I really liked them. They were much smoother than the Clover bamboo DPs, and cost more too. And now they have disappeared. Very odd. What brand are you using that smell?

You know, I am using Clovers, but the smell has disappeared! I guess I just needed to break them in.
LOL! the yarn musta soaked up all the stank!
Or it was the yarn…my Manos del Uruguay smells rank, very vinegary. I can’t wait to finish so I can clean it.
Some mftrs are notorious for not completely rinsing after dyeing. ![]()

Hi, I’ve only been knitting for one year, I have tried differnt types of needles
but I always come back to my Crystal Palace Bamboo needles. They are great, smooth and I like the feel of them…not cold burrrr. I very seldom have trouble with the yarn slipping off the needle while I’m using them. And they don’t make that nasty click, click, clicking sound like if you were finger nail bitting as do the metal ones. That sound seems to bother my family when I am knitting and watching a good movie with them.
