i knit a bag to be felted, and am stumped on what i should do for the handle. this little drawing shows how i want the handle. i suck at icord. could i jst knit a long narrow strip? i am worried it would be hard to weave the strip through. i also have a knitting spool, but since i want to felt this, it seems like the cord is tight and wouldnt felt well…
On this pattern it tells how to make a braided handle maybe this is to big  Look and see if you can use it

As a substitute for i-cord, I sometimes have used a twisted handle. Just cut several lengths of yarn about 4 times longer than you want the straps to be tie at one end and attach to door or something like that, divide into two parts and twist until very tight tie at the other end. You could also braid a handle/strap in the same way.
I tend to just use a long strip of stockinette since it goes faster than icord for me… i reeeally hate icord and for some reason stockinette just isn’t as boring to me. it curls in on itself, of course and i just stitch it shut and then throw it in to felt it. easy peasy.
Maybe instead of icord you can cast on and then cast off without knitting a row in between?
i bought a larger knitting spool…a knifty kniter product:

i am using the largest end, and it is working perfect! a little slow, but looks great! Thanks for the help!
I just finished a felted bag (posted in Whatcha Knittin) and I just couldn’t get the I cord thing down so I cast on five stitches on a DPN and knit in the round until I had the length I wanted. They came out great and sturdy! I will definitely do this again…
