Ice Road Truckers

Yeah, Atlanta is also quite the adventure.

Artlady; in the U.S. truck driving is listed by OSHA as the single most dangerous job in the nation. More truckers are killed just doing their jobs every year than any other occupation including police, fire fighters, and pilots. If you’re the sleepless type never marry a trucker.

My DH toyed around with the idea of heading up to Alaska for a season of fishing or becoming a truck driver. My response was “We did not get married to be apart so your butt is staying home!”

Besides, he’s a techie and I can’t imagine him going more than a couple days without his computer.

Mason, it is true that if a company gets a bad report on a truck driver, the driver hears about it. But where I work, the drivers are also told about good comments. Maybe not enough of the time but alot of the time.
A company would be foolish not to pat their drivers on the back when they deserve it, it can only build moral and maybe make someones day.
Like I said I talk with drivers from all over the US and all ages and most are great people, once in awhile you come across someone with a chip on their shoulder, and yeah, they are usually a new bie.
Drivers of big rigs deserve respect, they have a lot of responsibility to their job and the lifes around them on the road.
:yay:
