I think I know the answer, but

If a pattern says to knit in first stitch, is that the same thing as kfb? Also, isn’t doing that (if that is ,in fact, what I’m supposed to be doing) going to make my edge stitches funky looking? Someone told that you should always do your increases or decreases at least one stitch in from the edge (maybe two stitches). OH YEAH, I’m making a capelet that is knit from the neck down. I guess I should have started with that. :stuck_out_tongue:
There are A LOT of increases!

I’d take it as knit your first stitch and then do your increase on your second stitch. Knitting your first stitch and then doing increases helps to keep the edge from looking wonky.
