Ok…
I am a newbie and I have just started on my first Ruffle scarf. I think I sucessfully got through the first three rows (they had my first wrap and turns)… and I thought I all was well until the [kwtog, k1] in row four. I have looked all over the place and everything I have read is not jelling with me. Am I supposed to turn in row four? Can anyone shed some light on this [kwtog, k1] thing for me?
When you do wrap & turns, there comes a point when you have to ‘pick up and knit’ your wraps. When you get to the wrapped stitch, lift the wrap up onto the needle and knit it together with the next stitch.
I know that I am turning in the first three rows (each with their W&Ts) and then I purl… but on the fourth row the pattern just says “[kwtog, k1] 3 times, purl to end”. So I guess I’m wondering is there a turn somewhere in the that “knit wrapped stitch together”…
Is there a link to the pattern? If they don’t say to turn, I think you work across the row picking up the wraps. You may start wrapping again next. Read the pattern and see if you do a few rows of w & t’s and then a row of kwtog.
Thanks!
The pattern basically has four rows. The first three rows have one wrap and turn… the fourth row has the three kwtogs. The whole time I should have 22 stitches. I can see the pretty wraps I made in the first three rows (at least I think I did them right and they are pretty… LOL!).
