Hi there,
I’m a lurker, and read the thread everyday-just don’t post too often. Just wanted to share that I’ve finally learned Fair Isle knitting and I think I’m an addict! What fun. This opens up a whole new range of projects. I have the book 1000 Motifs, and can’t wait to dig in. :woot:
Any suggestions for projects would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for letting me share,
Jana
Well, I don’t have any hints, per se, just my own opinions. I would do them on circular needles, in the round with steeks, in JAMIESON’S Shetland Wool. That’s about it. Congratulations!
If you have a chance, take a look at the Knitting from Camp book from Schoolhouse Press as well as Meg Swanson’s book on Fair Isle. The sweaters are fantastic!
And, the techniques section in Sweaters from Camp is worth the price by itsself, so I would definately check that one out.
Thank you, I’ll try to look for the book at my LYS and then Amazon.
Jana
Thats wonderful that you enjoy it so much.
I"ve tried it a few times. But I end up giving up. I always have a mess on the back side of it plus I do not knit that way evenly. My work tends to be uneven. Maybe some day I’ll try it again.
