I-Cord Machine

You know, I always assume that you all know everything that I do. But, this time, I thought I should check.

I HATE to make I-Cord. When I saw this machine online, it really grabbed my attention.

I know what I want for my birthday!

I have one, and it’s a PITA. The little hooks snag the yarn and it gets all tangled. KK and I were trying to use it the night I bought it and we just decided it’s junk

Wow! Thanks Hildie! It’s SO good to know ahead of time.

icord sucks, but i don’t think this thing is worth it, personally.

if you buy it anyway, though, I won’t hold it against you

I have a great i-cord machine

(my six year old, who loves to finger knit  )

That’s sad to know. I saw a scarf knitted out of I-cord and it looked really cool. oh well…

I have a Clover Wonder Knitter and I love it!!! It comes with 2 disks for making either a 3 stitch cord or a 6 stitch cord.

I’ve got one of those, and I think it’s alright. I will agree that it can be a PITA to get started, but after that it’s pretty smooth sailing for me.

Whenever I need an icord made, my husband and daughter are both happy to help – they think the Embellish knit is great fun.

Hmmm. Two opinions now…and another option!

Maybe I can get out of making manual i-cord after all! :happydance:

My Hobby Lobby carries both of those, Sandy. I’ve been thinking about using a 40% off coupon to get one like the Embellish Knit, so I wouldn’t be upset if it didn’t work as well as I hoped.

and some weeks at Hobby Lobby their “knitting implements and tools” are 50% off, I’d sure consider that tool in that category!

I bought that Wonder Knitter over a year ago and I still can’t figure it out.

When I took a look at the bond machine it said something about using light weight yarns, and listed DK weight yarn but not worsted. Anyone know of one of these machines that can handle worsted??

I’m sure there must be, but I can’t think of any off the top of my head. I do have a machine knitting magazine that explains how to make the Embellish-knit accept worsted yarn by removing a hook. I can unearth that issue later today if you’re interested.

The Knitter’s Guild that I belong to will be having the January Meeting in a few weeks. One of the gals brought an I-Cord maker last year. I will inquire about it: how does she like it and the name of it. I remember her making positive remarks about it at the show-and-tell.

I owned one of those…they work great if you put the weight correctly and go slow when turning the handle… u had to roll up the i-cord as you goes so that no tangle and mess to fix later…it need alot of patience to use this machine
