Hue + Me Lion Brand yarn question

I’ve just finished seaming the Easton Striped pullover in Lion Brand Hue + Me yarn. It’s supposed to be a slouchy fit, with some ease built in, however it’s currently quite fitted, particularly on the arms…is this a case of this specific yarn needing to be blocked, steamed or washed to loosen it up?

I’ve not started the neckband yet as am in two minds whether I’ll need to do the arms again (I really hope not!)

Thanks folks

That yarn is mostly acryllic, so I don’t think blocking will take it from fitted to oversize but you can always give it a try.

Did you match the gauge specified?

And now a painful question–could you have picked the wrong size? The chart gives finished sizes rather than body measurements, so it could be easy to choose the wrong size. The one shown is size Small, measures 42.5" and is on a model with bust size 34".

If it’s not terribly tight, or if you can block it wider, you can probably redo the sleeves in a larger size by picking up more stitches from the body. The body needs to be wide enough to drop off your shoulders by at least 2" for the sleeves to work properly.

Thanks - I did actually do a swatch and matched gauge…for once!! The body works and the shoulder drop is about right, it’s just the arms. But now you mention it, I’m wondering if I did the wrong sized arms - it’s the sort of thing I would do - gah!! I’ll double check my notebook anyway for the stitch count, but I think you’re on to something and I am going to have to redo both arms. rolls eyes at myself
Luckily the yarn knits up quickly and easily so shouldn’t be tooo painful.
Really useful to know that acrylic doesn’t give much on blocking - always learning!
Thank you

Redoing is often painful, but you’ll enjoy this cute sweater so much more when you’re done!

And so, the frogging begins 🫣😉

Painful even to watch. It’ll be worth it in the end. It’s a lovely sweater and you’ve knit it so nicely.
Here’s to the re-knit going more quickly than you think. Do let us see a photo when you’ve finished

You’ll be glad of it. It always feels awful just before, not great during, but much better after.

I took out just over 2000 stitches yesterday and felt so much better afterwards.

Your sweater is absolutely gorgeous. Having the sleeves as you want them will make this the perfect top.
