My daughter is knitting a large bag, which she will felt when finished. She cast on 143 stitches (on circular), and knit round plain for I don’t know how many rows. I knit and felted a bag like this last year, but I cannot remember how I decreased it for the bottom. All I remember is that I decreased until I had about 8 stitches left, and pulled the yarn through. My bag has sort of a flat bottom, like a bucket. (I use it as a basket for holding balls of yarn.) Can anyone give us ideas about how and when to decrease? Thanks!
The felted bowl on this page looks like it should help you. It knits the sides first, then decreases for a flat bottom.
