How to work 3 rows st st Help!

New to knitting. Pattern says “starting with a k row, work 3 rows st st.” does this mean knit purl knit or does this mean three sets of knit/purl: (knit purl), (knit purl), (knit purl)? thank you!

It means:

Knit one row
Purl the next row
Knit the next row

HTH, knitcindy

I’m pretty sure they want a knit row, a purl row, and then a knit row. if it wanted more, then it would say knit 6 rows of stockinette st.
