Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone can give some tips on how to wash 100% silk. I am a bit confused about it all as I have bought some yarn from colourmart.com, all their yarns come to you oiled and their instructions are specificaly for their cashmere and not silk. The information i have read on the internet always mention using some type of soap that you wouldnt usually find in your cupboard. I washed my gauge with shampoo and rinsed it with conditioner, but it didn’t ‘bloom’ like i thought it would and therefore my gauge was all wrong.
Can anyone give some tips on how to wash this yarn and get the proper gauge, feel, and ‘bloom’. It would be great if anyone that has bought this yarn could tell me what they did with it!
