How to tell the repeat number in a pattern

I have a knitting pattern for a ripple stitch that I found on the Internet but I can not figure out what the repeat stitch count is. Every time I try the stitch it doesn’t come out evenly , I wind up having to use my border stitches to finish the repeat.
This is the pattern:
Rows 1 to 4: Knit.

Row 5 (RS): K5, slip marker, (k1, yo, k5, sl2,k1psso, k5, yo k1, slip marker) 4 times, k5.

Row 6 (WS): K5, sm, purl to last marker, sm, k5.

Rows 7 to 14: Repeat rows 5 and 6.

Are the yarn overs counted as a stitch when determining the stitch repeat?

I colored the dec. and inc.

Row 5 (RS): K5, slip marker, ([COLOR=Orange][B][COLOR=Black]k1,[/COLOR] yo[/B][/COLOR], k5, [COLOR=DarkOrange][U][B]sl2[/B][/U][/COLOR][COLOR=Orange][COLOR=Black]-[/COLOR] [B]k1psso[/B][/COLOR], k5, [B][COLOR=Orange]yo [/COLOR][/B][COLOR=Black]k1[/COLOR], slip marker) 4 times, k

[B]slip2[/B]-k1-psso= slip 2, knit 1, pass [COLOR=Orange][B]two[/B][/COLOR] slip stitch over the knit

You inc. 2 with the two yo. You dec. 2 with the sl2-k1psso

Every thing that you repeat 4 times is the repeat; the 5 sts at the beginning and end of the row are just the border sts. Therefore, (k1, yo, k5, sl2,k1psso, k5, yo k1) has 15 sts which are repeated. You don’t count the yarnovers because they don’t use a stitch. The sl 2, k1, psso uses 3 sts to dec to 1, so it balances out the YOs which would add 2 sts.

Yes that is what I was hoping for. Now that I know the repeat count I can get started on an afghan using this pattern.
