Sirdar pattern 4979 says sew cast off ends of ties in position to each front edge to correspond with top of rib
But makes no sense the ties are only 13 cm and no holes to thread through has any idea how and where the ties are sewn
Amy ideas would be much appreciated
The 4ply instructions says 33 cm length of ties which would wrap round
Yes, I calculate about 30, 33 cm or so for the ties. The pink sweater on the left shows the ties wrapping around the back.

It probably means that they are sewn to the front edges (one edge of which is wrapped over the other). This project shows an opening at the side through which one tie is passed, again with a bow at the back.

and you can just see it here.

Instead of sewing it on why not pick up and knit it attached? I’m sure there’s an obvious reason I’m not seeing.
Thank you unpicked seem and left 3 cm to put tie through and knitted the ties to 33 cm
Thank You
