How to sew in set-in sleeves

I’m looking for a way to finish off my hubby’s grandson’s sweater. It is knit flat and sewn together. I know how to sew in the side seems and how to add the neck stitches… what I don’t know how to do is to sew in the sleeves.
It is a drop-shoulder pullover. I sew the right shoulder seams together, pick up and knit the neck stitches and then sew in the sleeves by lining up the middle of the sleeve with the shoulder seam… but here I am at a loss.
How do I actually sew them in?
I’ve looked at a video that says it’s shows you how to do it but it is for a different type of sweater and makes perfect sense for that sweater but not for this type…
I have done one set-in set of sleeves on another sweater that I made a few years ago but I was not happy with the way the stitching showed up when I sewed the sleeves in… a real mess of an otherwise beautiful sweater. I’m determined that this will not happen again.
Please help! :???:
