How to pull through to cast off and how to continue knitting the wool from a stitch holder

Hi my name is nahiea I’m new to this site .
I’m trying to knit a heart from a pattern and I’m up to where I’ve put half my knitting onto a stitch holder and the other half I’ve continued to knit , it now says to pull through to cast off which I don’t know how to do and then how do I continue to knit the stitches on the stitch holder … do I cut the thread to start that cause the pattern doesn’t say anything about cutting the thread … I’m only new to knitting so sorry if my question sounds silly . Thanks to any help

here is a photo of my pattern and knitting

Welcome to the forum and to knitting!

Very nice looking pattern. Can you tell us the name or source of the pattern? It’s a good time for many of us to be knitting hearts.

Pull through isn’t very specific. You’re to cut the yarn leaving about a 6 inch tail. Thread onto a tapestry needle and then take the tapestry needle through the sts on the knitting needle. Pull out the knitting needle and tighten up the sts on the yarn tail. Fasten them off with a small knot.

You can thread the yarn through the hole and then go around the top sts from the wrong side rather than the right side as shown in the video.

Start working with the held sts using a new end of yarn. Again leave about a 6 inch tail to weave in later. The first couple of sts may seem loose but you can always snug them up by a slight pull on that yarn tail.
Your knitting looks very nice. Enjoy finishing up and post a photo when you do please.
