How to match up the front and back

Instructions for the back (after binding off for the armholes):

Cont even until work from beginning measures 27 , ending with RS facing for next row.

Instructions for the front (also after binding off for armholes):

Cont even until work from beg measures 24 ending with RS facing for next row.

The sweater was going to be way too long using their 27" measurement so I decreased the length right before binding off for the armhole. ie, they called for the length to be 17", and I made it 15".

I’m concerned that because I changed the length in the back, the front won’t match up. I thought that the front and back would be identical, but i was wrong, as the neck starts 3 inches before the back (makes sense… don’t want the sweater-wearer to strangle!).

The final measurement of MY back is 25". Would an easy way to remedy this just be to start the neck on the front at 25"-3"? ie, at 22"?

Thanks!

That’s what I would do. Just work 3 inches less than the back before starting the neck decreases.
