I have a simple pattern for a towel topper. I’m having a senior blonde moment on how to knit the buttonhole part of the pattern. At this part of the pattern I’m down to 9 sts, the pattern states to k1, p1, k1, Bind off 3 sts, k1, p1, k1 Next Row: p1, k1, p1, cast on 3 sts, p1, k1, p1 (buttonhole made). I know how to do the cast on mid row, but when I try the bind off part my buttonhole is not centered. I’ve tried that row 2 different ways & figure I’m doing something wrong. I sure can use some expert advice. Thank you.
I continued to work at it & got my buttonhole!!! Not sure if it’s right but it worked lol. I left the 2nd row alone however the 1st row I did as follows: k1, p1, k1, k1, bind off 3 sts, p1, k1. I just changed where the bind off 3 sts are.
