placemat size 11x 15 to knit how many stitches what size needle?
What yarn are you using and what is your gauge?
I made everyday placemats from 100% cotton yarn (such as Peaches and Crème) on size 6 needles (4 mm) using linen st pattern on 77 sts for approximately 100 rows (gauge: 5.5 st and 10 rows per inch). When machine washed and dried, they were about 12”x16,” a perfect size for us.

I made a linen stitch set of mats/coasters with a ombré Red Heart yarn and 4mm needles, but several years ago and I don’t have any pictures - just wanted to say linen stitch is very good for these as it lays flat.
Might be best to do a swatch, keeping a note on stitches cast on and row count then wash/dry as you would for a placemat, and decide based on that.
