How to increase the size of a pattern

Ok, I am knitting a purse, it just occurred to me that I may want to felt this, but it may not be large enough to do that. How does one go about making the item larger. This particular pattern calls for making 4 triangles which will be joined when finished…

I guess maybe you would need to see the pattern?

I’m sorry if this is a silly question…this is brand new to me!

4 triangles? How about 8? Or maybe 16? Whatever gives you the purse shape, with more triangles.
