As you can imagine, when I try to google this, I get loads of “how to fix mistakes in your knitting”, which isnt quite what I’m looking for
I dropped a stitch in my mistake stitch scarf (pattern slip 1 knit wise, k2, p2, repeat till last three stitches k2, p1 X however many rows). I marked it with an orange knot in my scarf:
How do I fix it? Is it the same as how we pick up stitches normally (ie regular knit stitch)? I didn’t know if alternating stitches would be a factor…
We’ve all done that a time or two or three.
Figure out what kind of stitch it should be. Is it a knit column or a alternating k and p column? Then you can pick up the stitch in the conventional way for stockinette or garter.
Maybe these will help:

its alternating k & p column! so I should fix it like a garter stitch?
Yes, that’ll work. Good luck with it and be sure to post a photo when you finish. We love to see finished projects.
Thank you for reminding me! I never posted my finished blanket after seeking help on the forum!

I LOVE the latch tool sold for machine knitting. And the double-ended latch took is a lifesaver for garter stitch repairs! I keep both of these in my hand-knitting tool bag!
