Make my own pattern

Hi Disha1234,
It is truly commendable that you are determined to design your own pattern! My suggestion is that you start your knitting journey using an already existing sweater pattern that you really, really like and learn the basics of knitting using that. Once you have figured out the tricks of the trade, so to speak, you can then graduate to applying what you have learned to creating your own design. That way, you will not be combining the challenge of learning how to knit, with the very different challenge of learning how to design a knitting pattern. Just my opinion, (unsolicited, I know and for that I apologize.)

Disha1234,
Welcome to this forum- it’s a great place to ask questions and get help. I have been knitting seriously for only about 6 years and discovered these fabulous folks about a year ago. Another suggestion: if you have safe access to a yarn store, they are great resources for assisting in picking out a pattern and the yarn that best suits the pattern. And, patterns can be a challenge to read and understand when you are beginning (and can continue to be a challenge, depending upon how good the designer is in explaining the pattern), so starting with something simple, say perhaps a scarf that does not require shaping, might be the optimal route to go. When you have a success, you are much more likely to enjoy the process, which is the entire point of knitting. After a scarf or two, maybe a hat, which does require shaping. So, you build up your knitting knowledge project by project, all the while learning new skills.

is there different ways to knit bcoz i have shoulder pain and my upper back hurts
Thank ufor helping

The way you sit and the way you hold your yarn and needles will make a big difference. Try changing one thing (posture first, then how you hold your work) and see if that helps.

Ok will keep a check on my posture thank u

Hi and welcome to knitting!!
I echo the advice to start on a scarf !
My first scarfs weren’t even straight sided because of beginners mistakes!!
Knitting a child’s sweater is a good second choice because it dose not take as long to do all the same things as an adult size.
But I was mostly wanting to talk about discomfort well knitting recently I had a book from the library on the ergonomics of knit and they suggested supporting your knitting on your lap with a pillow.
After sitting comfortably and straight.
