Hi
Need help please. I am knitting a cardigan in a velour wool.
I obviously haven’t been paying attention and I’ve knitted a purl row where I should have knitted a row. I’m a fairly novice knitter so have no idea what to do other than undo a whole side! Yes, ive done it twice!!! Hope you can see what i mean in the picture.

How to change a purl row to a knit row in a completed stocking stitch top
Big gulp.
Have you ever done kitchener stitch before? It can invisibly join two rows of live stitches. Look up a video and practice before you do anything to your sweater piece.
What I’m getting to is, you’ll probably have to cut your yarn in the middle of the bad row and (assuming you have spare yarn) kitchener the two pieces together. You will need to run life lines near the mistake row, top and bottom. Life lines are yarn of a different color that you run thru a row to stop it from unraveling.
After you’ve familiarized yourself with kitchener stitch, the main thing to look out for are twisted stitches - lay the edge out flat & carefully inspect that the correct side is facing you. And you will be creating the tension with your needle, so try your very best to match the size of all the surrounding stitches.
If you are like me, there will be som unexplained loops here and there that sneakily hide from my view. So check the back side frequently & adjust the stitches to take up any loops that may form.
True, this is not a beginner’s fix. But it is an invaluable skill and something you will use a lot. So might as well learn it now & save yourself a whole lot of time & fix your lovely sweater.
Welcome to the forum!
What if you consider this a design feature? You could repeat it on all the pieces of the cardigan.
What is the name of your pattern and the designer?
