How to change a pattern to in the round

I want to knit these little stocks in the round and not flat. How can I do the heel? I’ve made socks before but always with dpns so this is throwing me for a loop. It is a free pattern from little cotton rabbits and there are 25 stitches on the needle.

Have you been knitting in the round up till now? If so you can probably work whatever is your favorite heel. Usually the heel is worked on about half the sts on the needle with the other half for the instep.
Are you working cuff down or toe up?
Is there a specific name for this pattern? I notice several on the Little Cotton Rabbits website.

It is called mini Christmas stockings. If I have a pattern to follow, I can do a sock top down. I’m not sure how to take her directions and apply what I know ( which isn’t a lot) to make the sock an in the round pattern

Those are very cute. Depending on the pattern you want to use, it may not be straightforward to knit these in the round. With the patterns like the tree and snowflake the contrasting yarn may not be in the correct location. There are ways around it but it might be easier expecially with such a small sock to knit at least one flat.

Here’s one technique for intarsia in the round just to give you an idea of the problem:

Here are some tiny socks knit in the round:

If you decide to go with the pattern you have knit flat, we can help with the directions.

I think that I can figure out the flat pattern by using the other patterns with 12 stitches for the heel. Thank you.

See how it goes. We’d love to see a photo when you make these tiny stockings.
