How to carry multiple knitting color

I’m having trouble carrying more than 5 colors per row. I’m working with 9 colors per row so I REALLY need some help. Does anyone can suggest a way to carry all this colors per row? Thanks a LOT,:knitting:

Welcome to KnittingHelp!
I’m curious as to why you’re carrying so many colors across the row. Usually, fair isle patterns have you carry only 2 strands across. I’'ve carried 3, maybe 4 by spacing the stitiches where the carried yarns are caught but never as many as 9. Would intarsia work for your pattern?
Can you tell us the name of the pattern or give us a pattern link?

Hi Salmonmac, I’m working some celtic pattern with geometric design created by color contrast. I could work with 2 or 3 colors but the final effect would not be the same. So I passing the only the basic collor along and working with separate bobbins of (same) colors for each block, leaving the yarn to fall behind, but I was wondering if there was a better way to do this.

I think the individual bobbins are the best way to do this. Even carrying 2 strands of yarn across a row makes a noticeably thicker fabric. I think so many strands would be too bulky and trying to catch them every so many sts would be too complicated.
Sounds intriguing. What are you making?

For now it’s a hat. If i’m able to do it without killing anyone than I’ll try a cardigan. We’ll see! sending a photo so you have a better idea of my mess!

I’m really interested in seeing this. Could you post the photo here, please?
