How do I use seed stitch in this pattern?

As a beginner, I have started to work on my first intermediate project; socks. I have a pattern for it and pretty much understand everything but I have come to a kind of road block.
This is the part in the pattern:
1st row: Seed stitch 21, k2tog, k4, k2tog, seed stitch 21
2nd row: seed stitch 21, k6, seed stitch 21
3rd row: seed stitch 20, k2tog, k4, k2tog, seed stitch 20
4th row: seed stitch 20, k6, seed stitch 20

This goes pattern goes on to decrease stitches and I understand the k2tog and k6 part of it and everything but I do not understand the seed stitch part. I have looked at the definition of seed stitch many times and in many places (including this website).
However I do not get what the seed stitch would be here, whether it would be [k1, p1], [k1,p1] and then [p1, k1] on opposite rows or what. Please please help!

The easiest way to follow a seed stitch pattern is to knit into the purls and purl into the knits as they face you. So if the next stitch on the needle is a purl bump, knit it. If it’s a knit stitch ‘V’, purl it.
