How do I knit into next stich?

Hi, I have also just taken up knotting & am attemting to make a wave pattern baby blanket but cannot remember how to follow these instructions;
k4, (k2tog) twice, (k1, yfwd, k1, yfwd, k1) into next stitch, (k2tog) twice, rep from * to last 4 stitches, k4
I know how to k2tog twice but am I right in repeating from
means that I start with k2tog twice & end with k2 tog twice ? This would mean I would have k2 tog twice, twice = 4 lots of k2 tog next to each other??
Also i dont understand the comment “into next sticth”
Any help is much apreciated.

Can u check the instructions again?? There is no * in there so we don’t know where you are repeating from.

Thanks

Hi sorry this is where the asterisk should have been shown k4, *(k2tog) twice, (k1, yfwd, k1, yfwd, k1) into next stitch, (k2tog) twice, rep from * to last 4 stitches, k4

OK. That makes it easier to see what u are supposed to be doing!!!

Yes, you will eventually be doing 4 k2tog in a row.

And the “in the next stitch” part. You are supposed to do what is in the parentheses in the next stitch.
