P1, Cr2, P1?
Welcome to KH!
Probably a purl one, cross2, purl one. The Cr2 is likely a mini-cable. Your pattern should define which way to cross either at the beginning or end of the pattern.
What is the name of your pattern?
Thanks for the welcome. It is on an old page obviously from a book or magazine – just entitled Sweater and cardigans – 3 baby patterns on the same style of patterning which was given to me some years
ago.
The pattern rows have 1. K21 p1 cr2 p1k1 yfwd, s1 k1 psso k1 k2tog yfwd k1 p1 cr2 p1 kto end.

Hope I have copied this out correctly. Sorry my RN has arrived so I shall have to stop until tomorrow. Really appreciate your gesture to help,
Jenny
Here’s a video for the Cr2 to the right or to the left. If the pattern has a photo, you may be able to tell which cross is used. If not, it may not matter and in that case, a Cr2 right (Cr2R) is probably easier.
Of course, you can always work these as a 2 stitch cable with using a cable needle. It’s easier without but either will work.
Hope you are doing well.
I’m up again now and will try out the right cable cross which is probably called the Cr2 in our patterns. It looks easy so I am hoping it works with this pattern as the picture is too small to see distinctly. Thanks very much for your help. Tis very much appreciated and the video link is good as well. Enjoy your day, Jenny
Very many thanks, Salmonmac, for this information. I am just up but will get on to it this afternoon. So, the Cr stands for ‘Cross’ not cable but as you mentioned it will be much easier to do it
as a cross2right. The video was good to see too. I am keen to get started. Enjoy your day. Jenny
Thanks Salmonmac.
Your system worked well and garment was finished some time back and the recipient was delighted with it. Sorry for the delay in posting this. My computer died on me over our first lockdown when I was very ill. Since then I have moved to another Rest Home and hospital and we are in lockdown again.
I hope all is well with you and thanks for this very helpful site.
I’m very sorry to hear that you were so ill but it’s good news that you are on the mend. The quarantine has complicated so much of our lives.
I’m so glad you were able to finish and that the project worked out well. Stay safe and healthy!
