I’m using the basic knit bind-off, and I can’t seem to figure out how to secure the last loop sticking out. Help, please?

I just cut the yarn end and then stick the end back through the loop and pull to tighten. That’s probably not the way to do it correctly, but it works for me 
What Eccie said. That’s the way. It helps to stick the end through the loop a copuple of times, making a rolling hitch, before you pull it up. If you’re using stuff that doesn’t felt, that keps keep it from pulling out. If you’re felting, of course, it’s going to weld itself in place anyway.
I’ve also been known to use a drop of flex and stretch fabric glue on that last bind-off stitch in places like armpits that might get a lot of stress.
I cut the yarn and pull it through, then weave the end through the adjoining sts. No knot needed.
