How do I find discontinued yarn?

I’m still looking for Plymouth Sunsette color 240. I have one sleeve left to do on my sweater and need 4 more skeins but would be willing to buy more. I haven’t had any luck yet on this forum. Does anyone know of another place I might try to find it? I’ve called Plymouth, check eBay daily, called every story carrying Plymouth in NJ and some in other states. I would appreciate any advice that anyone has, the sweater is beautiful so far but won’t work well with only one sleeve.

Thanks in advance!!

Hi Joanne,
Are you on Ravelry? It looks like there is someone on there who has this yarn and would be willing to sell. If you are not already on, sign up for an invitation at www.ravelry.com (avoid using a Hotmail address if possibly). It may take a few days to arrive. Once you have your invite and have signed up, go to the Yarn tab and search for Sunsette. After selecting the yarn from the search page, click on the “# stashes” to see who has the yarn. You can then message that specific person with a request to purchase. If that avenue doesn’t work out, there are several ISO/Destash forums where you could post your request as well. Hope that helps!

Thank you so much. I just signed up for an invitation a couple of hours ago. I can’t wait to be invited and find that yarn. I appreciate your help. If that doesn’t work I may need to find out what ISO/Sestach forums are.

Thanks again!!

Joanne

ebay may be another option too, if Ravelry doesn’t work out.

ISO/Destash= In Search Of/Destash. In other words, they’re for people looking for yarn or wanting to get rid of it. You can often find yarn from years ago, discontinued kinds or just the right dye lot.

Becky do you know of a good one?
Thanks,
Jen

The only one I’m familiar with is on Ravelry.

Jennifer,
Thanks for the tip. I paid for the yarn today and should have it soon. I did find it on Ravelry. Now that I’m a member I’m having trouble making time to knit. I need to turn the computer off for awhile and work on my projects.
What a tremendous resource combined with this web site. Again, thank you for the information.
