I was just wondering how to do the garter stitch and if that was the only name?
Welcome to Knitting Help!
Garter stitch is just knitting every row. I don’t know of another name for it.
Ahh thank you:mrgreen:
The garter stitch i have heard is also called the knit stitch because it’s all knit stitch on every row front and back. Hope this helps! Oh, and welcome to Knitting Help!
Knit is a stitch and it’s used in may other stitch patterns.
Garter is a stitch pattern which uses only the knit stitch.
Garter stitch is the result when you knit every row, or also when you purl every row. The back of a knit st looks like a purl st and the back of a purl st looks like a knit st.
