Hooded Cardigan Pattern?

I keep seeing people in store-bought hooded sweaters, but rather than a pullover or a zippered sweater, they button down the front and the wide hood extends naturally from the placket. Does that make sense? I can’t seem to find a similar pattern online, and I’m not sure I’m experienced enough to write one. Anyone seen anything similar?

knitpicks has one by kris percival that looks good - but, i hope the directions are clearer than the ones in his knit wit kit…it’s in the book knitting to go.

Hmmm…closer, especially the Lion vest. I think I may be able to modify that pattern and make it work. I’m not terribly confident about creating sleeves without a pattern, though. Any ideas, anyone?
