Hole problem in socks

I just finished my second sock for this pair and in both of 'em there were these holes, I’m not sure what’s making them (I tried to keep my needles close together and pull the first stitch on every new needle tight) but if anyone knows I’d love to know. THey’re not that hard to sew up, but the less sewing the better, in my book.

There’s a HUGE picture of them, so you can see the holes.

From my experience that is a pretty common problem when transitioning from heel. Now that I know where the gap occurs, I usually just knit a stitch together with a bar from the stitch below or something like that…you can do it how ever you want but just something to close the hole.

Thankies, I wasn’t sure if there was something I was doing, slipping a stitch in the wrong place or something. Who knows, at least it’s not difficult to fix.

That site is awesome, there are a TON of patterns on there. :cheering:

Those holes drove me crazy until I found the site that Kemp sent you to. Here is the part that tells you how to avoid themhttp://www.socknitters.com/lessons/gusset.html

The yarn you used on your socks is just beautiful!! Can I ask what it is??? I love the colors. :XX: :XX:

Hehe, I’m glad someone does. It’s Caron Simply Soft - Embroidery Print. A 4oz. skein did both socks, I was happy (I had no idea how much it’d really take).
