Hobbycraft floor lamp

I am interested in purchasing a floor lamp that works well for knitting, crocheting, etc. I’m currently working with black yarn. Am looking for a lamp that can be extended over my work and adjustable in height also. Have looked at Dazor with light/magnifier. Has anyone used this light and how does it compare to Ott lights? Price range, hopefully, under $300.
Thanks so much.

I just bought an Ott floor lamp and I love it…don’t know about any others.

I have the Ultimate Daylight lamp and I really like it. I am embarrassed to say I got it at Jo-Ann fabrics but didn’t have a 40% off coupon…grrrr. It cost right at 120.00. I have since seen them at Hobby Lobby and Michael…both of whom also have 40% off coupons in the paper EVERY WEEK!!! One would think I could have used one of them!.. Any way, I use mine constantly.
good luck with picking yours…and look for coupons! Tillie

Don’t know the brand, but I have a full spectrum floor lamp that I got at WalMart for $30. It has an adjustable/flexible goose neck near the light and works very well… and has 2 light selections. Haven’t seen them at WalMart since I got mine over a year ago, but have seen them at Big Lots.

My dogs knocked it over while playing roughly and broke the bulb so now I’ve moved it next to my computer and use 2 lamps (one floor lamp and one desk lamp) equipped with screw-in daylight type bulbs which work very well, also.

BTW, the full spectrum bulbs for the Ott lamps are expensive if you get them on the internet. You can get the replacements for $10 at Home Depot or WalMart.

Just saw the lamp like mine in Herrschners catalogue for $49.99. Their price for a replacement bulb is $4.99 - this catalog offers free shipping with a $35 order.

I have not decided yet, but all of you have helped me so much. I just went on Herschner’s web site and they have a nice choice. None of the stores at this time in our area have any of these lamps. Any more helpful tips are appreciated. I won’t decide for another week or two. Thanks again!

Does anyone have this one? It looks nice and portable and is a good price. I need one for dark colors, too.

Due you live near a Tuesday Morning store? I got a daylight floor lamp (forget which brand). I think it was around $50.

I know eco-lights.com is a great site that offers great floor lamps like this. All products there are eco-friendly!

I’m all for the OTT lights. I waited to purchase my 3rd OTT light (the floor lamp) until JoAnn’s had some super-duper sale. Before that, I had a table lamp, and also an OTT that clamped onto the arm (wood) of my recliner. I was always banging it. It worked well, but it was in the way.

I love the antique gold floor lamp.

The OTT lightbulbs last forever and ever. I’ve yet to have a lightbulb burn out!

The OTT light has really spoiled me, and I think it has contributed to my habit of knitting until 3am. Under normal incandescent lighting, my eyes get too tired. With the OTT light, your eyes and brain think it’s daytime!

Definitely try the Brightech Magnifier floor lamp. It’s LED (no heat, long lasting, and very energy efficient). It’s 800 lumens in output, won’t light up a whole room but definitely more than sufficient for detailed works like knitting, crocheting, hand embroidery ect at a close distance (the lamp has 90 LEDs). Comes with a 4 1/2" clear lens for the magnifier. Price is less than $150. Very easily adjustable - both the body and the light head can be folded and rotated to adjust the light angle. I highly recommend it. If you don’t fancy a magnifier you can try the Litespan floor lamp, also by Brightech. It’s 2000 lumens - super bright and has full spectrum, which means it looks like daylight. This one is not as flexible in terms of light angle because you can only adjust the light head, but it’s quite tall and slim so it should not be hard to get the right lighting with it. Also this lamp costs less than a hundred bucks. Both of the lamps are dimmable, but the former has multiple light color temperature choices while the latter does not. You can find more info for the two lamps at https://www.hookedtobooks.com/best-floor-lamps/

Hi bjc1050 a friend of mine bought that one and she loves it
