Hi I’m new

Hi I’m new to this forum. I’ve been knitting a while, several years but I’m slow. A friend recommended this site because sometimes I just can’t figure it out.

Welcome! You came to the right place for help and resources. I can honestly say that I learned to knit by watching Amy’s videos

I am new to the forum. I need help in understanding a pattern.

Welcome!
Post your question in a new thread and we’ll all try to help. Give us the pattern name and a link if possible.

New to this forum but an OLD knitter, 50+ years. I just retired and decided I want to to knit dolls but I’m having some trouble with the pattern. It calls for shadow wraps to shape the heels of the feet. I’ve spent two days watching videos and reading about other methods without much luck. My problem is the side of the foot where the purl stitches are worked always looks sloppy, thick and just generally out of shape. I’ve tried the other short row methods but either can’t understand them or they don’t look any better. I am also visually impaired and that is part of it but I do have a good lighted magnifying glass. Any suggestions would be appreciated. This particular pattern doesn’t seem conducive to the German method as I run out of stitches before I reach the count the pattern calls for.
