Don’t stitch into the tops of the next 2 dc of the previous row.

what does it mean when it says dc in next 5 chs
dc into each of the 5 ch stitches that you made on the previous row.
plus i am new at crochet
when it says skip 2 ch that means do a sc stitch in it or no’
No. Do not crochet any kind of stitch into it. Just skip the 2 chains you see on the previous row.
when it says 3dc in the next ch it means dc 3 times in the same ch
Yes.
Watcha making? Just curious.
baby afghan
Oh okay. I’m working on a baby blanket also. Happy stitching.

(count as first dc…) means that your turning chain, which is the chain 3, will count as the first double crochet of the row, for that row and for every row where it is worked throughout the pattern.
‘working in back loops only’ means that you pick up only the back loop of the stitch you are working into. For a demonstration of that technique, you can view my video on single crochet which you will find HERE. Most of the video is how to work the single crochet stitch, but at about the 4 minute mark I show how to work into the front loop and then how to work into the back loop. Of course, you would be doing double crochet stitches on your piece, but it’s the same concept that is being shown for picking up the front or back loop.
There are lots of other videos on my website that you might find helpful for crochet. Just check my sidebar under Crocheting or Library of video tutorials.
I hope this is helpful.

REALLY NEED HELP i need help with this row: with Right side facing and working in both loops;join White with slip st in the first dc; slip st each dc across, changing to peach in last slip st
REALLY NEED HELP how do i change colors in slip st
same way you change colors using any other stitch in crochet…work the stitch until you are ready to draw the yarn through for the last time. Drop the old color, pick up the new color and use that to finish the stitch and continue working with the new color.
In the case of a slip stitch, you would insert your hook, draw up a loop with the new color and draw it through the stitch and the loop on the hook.
Hope this helps.
