Help with vanilla socks: the right side was switched to the wrong side

Hello! I was wondering if anyone could help me with a mistake I made on my socks. I noticed that I have been knitting the wrong side on the right side for a few rows in the decreasing round after the heal flap. Will purling one row then going back to knitting all rows fix this? If not, does anyone know how I might be able to fix this? I am ok with leaving the few rows that I messed up because I am scared to mess up the whole sock by trying to go back. Thanks!!!

Welcome to KH!
You’ve been working purl sts on the outside of the sock? If these socks are knit in the round you should be able to continue with a knit row. If they’re knit back and forth, then yes, finish a purl row on the wrong side and then continue with a knit row on the right side.

A lifeline is always a good idea and may help with this pattern and in future.

Thanks! I will try that and look in to the life line! I am knitting in the magic loop. Maybe it will work the same as knitting back and forth?

The lifeline will work with magic loop, dpns. circulars or straights.

Maybe this is your pattern?

This is exactly my pattern! I think I might have skipped a row somewhere in the gusset step.

That’s possible. Another thing to do is to put this sock on hold and start the second sock. When you finish that one, it’ll give you the courage to go back to sock 1, rip out the offending rows and continue on. It’s up to you. Good luck with it.

Good idea. Thank you so much for your advice!
