Help with sweater pattern for dd

Okay, I am knitting the left front of the sweater and here is the direction.

Cont in rib pat until armhole mearsures 6.5 inches ending with wrong side facing for next row.
Neck shaping: Next row Bind off 6 sts. (GOT IT)
Pat to end of row.
Keeping cont of pat, dec 1 st at neck edge on next 9 rows, then every following alt. row to 22 sts.
Work 1 row even in pat.
My interpretation of the pattern. :hair:
So, after binding off the six stitches, I am suppose to decrease 1 stitch for the next 9 rows. is this correct? If I do this, will this be considered neck shaping since it will be shaping both sides?

After you bind off the 6 at the armhole edge, you only decrease at the neck edge–not both edges. The armhole will continue straight up and the neck edge will slant.
