Could someone please tell me which would be better, a suspended bind off or a K2tog bind off? I am finishing a triangle shawl, bottom up, and would rather not do the sewn bind off, because it sounds like a pain. These 2 seem good, but is one better than the other? Thank you!
I haven’t used the k2tog too much, it seems waaaaaaayyy to loose to me, but then I don’t block much and to stretch while blocking would need a super loose BO. I usually use a needle a size or 2 larger to BO, or will sometimes knit the last row with a needle about 3 sizes larger and use a crochet hook to slip/bo the sts.
I’ve never done the suspended bind off, but the k2tog is pretty good.
I’m already on size 15 circs. Don’t have anything bigger. This project shouldn’t need blocking much. At least I hope not. Blocking doesn’t seem to help much with acrylics. Thanks for your input.
I’ve never done either, but bound off one shawl in the ususal fashion already, and it’s waaay too tight. Probably need to undo it (sigh). Don’t want too, it’s fuzzy yarn, hard to see the stitches. Thank you Jan in CA!
Try the k2tog BO or just BO loosely.
Thanks again, Jan. I’ve begun binding off, and it is just what I needed.
