Help With Raglan Armhole Decreases

I have a couple of questions regarding the top of the raglan sleeve. Thank you in advance!

Raglan armhole: When front measures – b) 11” (28 cm) –b) 6 6 sts in from the edges) of every right side row of the work as follows:

At the right side edge:

–b) 1 st 28 times

At the left side edge:

b) 1 st 30 times

Note: the decreases are worked the same on the back and the front.

At the same time:

After finishing the decreases at the right side edge, bind (cast off) at the right side edge, at the start of every right side row of the work as follows:

b) 5 sts 1 time, 4 sts 2 times

LEFT SLEEVE

Work the same as the right sleeve, but reverse the shaping.

My questions are:
Question 1. Which side do I decrease on the back? Also when I finish the 28 stitches on the right side, do I keep knitting plain on the right side until I finish the 2 additional rows for the left side 30?

At the right side edge:
–b) 1 st 28 times

At the left side edge:
b) 1 st 30 times
Note: the decreases are worked the same on the back and the front

Question 2: It did not mention anything about binding off on the left side. How do I do that.

After finishing the decreases at the right side edge, bind (cast off) at the right side edge, at the start of every right side row of the work as follows:
b) 5 sts 1 time, 4 sts 2 times

Welcome to the forum!
What is the name of your pattern and designer?
The schematic is probably showing the right sleeve. The slant at the very top of the sleeve would be oriented with the lower edge toward the front and the higher edge toward the back of the sweater.

When you finish the decrease of 28 sts on the right side go on to work the bind offs (5 sts 1 time, 4 sts 2 times) from that edge on the RS rows and at the same time continue the decreases on the left edge.
The bind off on the right edge should use up all the sts so there will be no need to bind off any sts on the left edge.
How mane sts do you have to start these directions?

Thank you for your Welcoming Greeting!

THe Name of the pattern is:
Kids Round-Neck Sweater Knitting Pattern - A/W - Intermediate - (6211-9) by Katia

The number of stitches are 71.

My confusion comes when it mentions decreases on the front and back:

At the right side edge:
–b) 1 st 28 times

At the left side edge:
b) 1 st 30 times
Note: the decreases are worked the same on the back and the front.

Thank you for all of your help.

It’s not clear but I assume they are referring to the RS rows when they say front and the WS rows when they say back. Since you’re working decreases every row, some will necessarily be on the back (WS) and some on the front (RS) of the knit sleeve.
The stitch count of 71 works out to all the sts being accounted for by the decreases and bind offs (28+30+5+4+4=71)
Thank you for the pattern information. Very pretty children’s pattern.

Thank you for taking the time to help me!

Have a Great Weekend!!
