Help with neckline please!

I have finished the front panel (FP) of my first sweater up until the neckline opening. The pattern says:
“ Row 18: Decrease the middle 10st and knit to the end of the row. From Row 19 continue over this section of stitches FP1 and decrease 5x1st every second row at the neck edge (rows 20,22, 24,26,28).
At shoulder height Row 30 there are 15 stitches left either to cast off or keep on hold to join to BP.”

But i’m confused because I start row 18 with 60 total stitches and I’m not sure what it means by decreasing the middle 10 stitches and how many stitches make up the front panel 1 (FP1) or even how many stitches are between the FP1&FP2?

Sorry this is a long and confusing question! I’m just so stuck

Welcome to KH!
What is the name of your pattern?
It may be a translation and it mean to place center 10sts on a holder. See if the directions under neckband or collar or finishing mention the 10 front sts.

Thank you!
I messaged the pattern author and she said the 10 middle stitches are meant to be cast off (?!)
I agree, I think there were some translation issues

Oh great! Yes, casting off the center 10sts works. Good to get designer support too.
