Hi, I’m having difficulty with either knitting or crocheting with sugar n cream cotton. It seems like the stitches are never even and looks like the yarn is unraveling. Does anyone else have this problem? What can I do to fix this?
Thanks

Make sure your stitches are nice and loose, that might help. I tend to work looser with cotton yarns. Sometimes I have problems with the strands separating (is that what you mean by unraveling?) but knitting looser helps with that too.
This yarn is very loosely twisted, which means that it will separate on its own. Just keep twisting it as the yarn comes up to the needle; that’ll help it hold together.
I learned way too much about the “kitchen”-type cotton yarns way back when, when I crocheted a washable afghan for my sister- and brother-in-law. The twist is opposite to that for crochet, and I was forever re-twisting yarn as it came to the hook. I didn’t know how to spin then, either, or I could’ve respun the yarn much tighter and (probably) in the correct direction.
Good luck!
